Tai Chi in entertainment is something I love to come back to. The Jason Bourne movies, Bruce Lee and Tai Chi; that is a combo that will get my interest.
"I came across an interesting article on China’s “World Taijiquan” website a couple of months ago that discussed a set of photos taken at Long Beach, California in 1964 showing Bruce Lee training Taijiquan. Famous for films such as Enter the Dragon, Fists of Fury and The Big Boss, the article asked why it was that while everyone knew about the influence of Wing Chun master Ip Man on Lee’s martial arts, the importance of Taijiquan on his development had been so overlooked." There are a little more on that if you care to read the article.

Here is Stewie Griffin in Family Guy doing Tai Chi! One unlikely Tai Chi practitioner! Not much but hey, anything Tai Chi in entertainment goes here! And I like to add what our friends at Slanted Flying says "While this show is not always politically correct and not everyone enjoys this type of Humor, this is a fine example of Tai Chi being used in TV and Movies." Like how they talk about Japanese people. Hmmm, but satire it is... Thank's to them for finding this!

"When Lou did Tai Chi he was looking for magic." says Laurie Anderson on her partner Lou Reed at a Martial Arts Session at Brooklyn Library, celebrating his memory. “It gives me a lot of power and grace,” Anderson told ARTnews over the phone, when speaking of the ancient Chinese martial art. “This is a very challenging time to be living. I don’t know how you’re doing in all this, but I need to get balanced every day. I feel very off-balance in many ways. So to have something that gives you a lot of physical confidence is really amazing.”
The event was led by Reed and Anderson’s teacher, Master Ren Guang Yi.
